Specialist Gender Counselling

Based in Mona Vale on Sydney's Northern Beaches, GenderTalk provides support to transgender, non-binary, and/or gender questioning individuals, their parents, partners and friends aged 12 years-old and above. The service allows individuals to explore their gender identity, and their community to better understand and support them.

GenderTalk is committed to provide you with a safe and confidential space to explore your feelings around how gender is impacting your life, free of judgement.

Our aim is to assist you in working out "where to from here". What that may look like for you is as unique as you are. Honouring your uniqueness is the very best part of counselling, and something we can enjoy together!

Lynn Sartori is an Australian Counselling Association (ACA) registered professional. Lynn holds two masters degrees: a Master of Medical Sciences from Cambridge University, UK, and a Master of Counselling from Edith Cowan University, Australia.

Following an international career as a medical director in the biotech sector, Lynn left to train as a counsellor, specialising in gender. She was fortunate enough to complete the required placement for her masters in an organisation providing world-class gender support.

Lynn's passion for working in the area of gender stems from a personal experience of the transgender community. Lynn quickly learnt that accessing services on the Northern Beaches was particularly hard. GenderTalk aims to help redress this balance and support the local trans and gender-diverse community by offering counselling services based in Mona Vale.

Therapy Sessions

At GenderTalk we understand that exploring, accepting and/or expressing your gender can often be daunting. Although the thinking around gender as a spectrum, rather than a binary option, is evolving, much of the world has yet to catch up. What can be a beautiful and joyous expression of self may, for many, become a terrifying, alienating or sometimes life-threatening experience in a society where gender is not well understood. This can be as true for the transgender, non-binary or gender questioning individual as it can be for those that love them.

Everybody's journey is different. You may be gender-questioning and unsure of where to go next. You may be comfortable in your gender, but not yet out. You may be out, but wanting to discuss aspects of your current life that you would like to change. You may be the parent, partner or friend of someone in any of the above, or other, situations.
