Based in Melbourne, but working online, GenderTalk provides specialist counselling for:

-
Transgender, non-binary and gender questioning individuals
-
Parents of transgender, non-binary and/or gender questioning individuals
-
Women seeking assistance in managing their stress in a patriarchal society
My aim is to assist you in working out "where to from here". What that may look like for you is as unique as you are.
Honouring your uniqueness is the very best part of counselling, and something we can enjoy together!
Specialist Counsellor

My name is Lynn Sartori, and I am an Australian Counselling Association (ACA) registered professional. I hold two masters degrees: a Master of Medical Sciences from Cambridge University, UK, and a Master of Counselling from Edith Cowan University, Australia.

I have been lucky enough to have had an international career as a medical director in the biotech sector, spending many years dealing with the stress of holding a high-powered job whilst being a single parent. After a successful career, and wanting to pursue a passion for people and counselling, I left the corporate world to train as a therapist, specialising in gender. I was fortunate enough to complete the required placement for my masters in an organisation providing world-class gender support.

My passion for working in Gendertalk's areas of specialty stems from a personal experience of the transgender community, coupled with decades of being the family financial provider in a high-stress, patriarchal society.

Therapy Sessions
At GenderTalk, we understand that exploring, accepting and/or expressing your gender can often be daunting, especially in a patriarchal society. We also understand that, even as a cis-woman who may be happy in her gender expression, a patriarchal society can be a tough place to thrive.
For gender questioning individuals, although the thinking around gender as a spectrum, rather than a binary option, is evolving, much of the world has yet to catch up. What can be a beautiful and joyous expression of self may, for many, become a terrifying, alienating or sometimes life-threatening experience in a society where gender is not well understood. This can be as true for the transgender, non-binary or gender questioning individual as it can be for those that love them.

Everybody's journey is different. You may be gender-questioning and unsure of where to go next. You may be comfortable in your gender, but not yet out. You may be out, but wanting to discuss aspects of your current life that you would like to change. You may be the parent, partner or friend of someone in any of the above, or other, situations and needing someone to talk to who is specialist in this space.

Alternatively, you may be a woman who would like to talk to a counsellor who understands the insidious nature of a culture based on gender, and would like to talk to someone who is well aware of the implications of living in a patriarchy.

Our counselling services provide a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions. We offer individual therapy sessions tailored to your needs.
Confidential Help in a non-judgemental space
We are here to provide a safe and confidential space to explore your own journey, wherever you are at, and/or and to help you support your transgender, non-binary or gender-questioning loved one.
